The details are available in the MobileRead forum. This effectively makes an open source E Ink tablet. It takes advantage of the fact that the internal memory on these devices is on an SD card embedded in the device.

This should work on Kobo eReader Touch, The Kobo Mini and the Kobo Glo. This includes a driver for E Ink screens.
