The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a Web Tablet available in three sizes 7", 8.9" and 10.1".

The 7" and 10.1" is available with Cell phone plans or Wi-Fi while the 8.9" is available as Wi-Fi only. The 7" devices all use Android Froyo 2.2 release while the others run Android Honeycomb 3.1 release.

The 10.1" model is available in Gray or White with 16 GB or 32 GB of memory while the 8.9" is gray only. It features Widescreen HD (1280x800) viewing experience on a brilliant display and Full HTML Browser with Adobe® Flash® Technology. The 8.9" is almost identical except for the screen size and light weight (under 1 lb).

A new version of the 7" is coming out in April/May 2012. It is called the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). It runs Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. Hardwarewise this unit is a step back from the earlier one but is only $250. Its claim to fame is that it is a simple cheap device running Android 4.0. It has power and volume buttons, an IR port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a docking port. The IR emitter lets you use the tablet as a remote control for a variety of media devices.
