MuPDF is a lightweight PDF viewer and parser/rendering library. It supports PDF 1.7, but not form filling and JavaScript. A number of functions are only available via keystrokes. It is free, open-source software.

The software consist of four utilities:

• mupdf is the viewer
• pdfclean pretty prints and rewrites the contents of a PDF file
• pdfdraw converts a PDF document to image files
• pdfshow shows objects and streams that make up a PDF document
