Having shell access on your iLiad allows you to install 3rd party applications created for or ported to the device

[edit] Getting Access

• Visit iRex's Shell Access request page.
• Select the MAC Address of your iLiad from the list and agree to the terms.
• The package will automatically be placed in your IDS account.
• Download the shell access package (Hold the connect button on your iLiad to download).

[edit] Warnings

Improper use of 3rd party applications may leave your iLiad unresponsive (bricked) and need reflashing.

If you download the shell access package second time, you may get into an endless reboot loop, it is caused by a duplicate configuration paragraph in file "/mnt/setting/registry/registry.xml".
