Amazon EPUB

Beginning 2026 January 20, amazon made verified purchased e-books available for download as DRM free EPUB provided the publisher has specified that DRM not be applied to that book.[1][2] Buried in the announcement is the note that amazon will not automatically provide the EPUB download option to readers for books published before 2025 December 9. Publishers must manually enable this on a book by book basis.[3]
At this time the only publishers known to have many books with DRM free EPUB download available are Baen and Tor.
