The Papyre was first shown at the CES show in 2009. It is an E-Ink device running WinCE. It has a touch screen that requires the use of a special stylus (possibly Wacom) and many PDA features but almost nothing else is known so far. This product never saw the light of day.

At CES 2010 Samsung announced two new models, a 6" and a 10" with variations available. "Samsung’s New E-book Series Boasts First-of-its-Kind Functionality with a Precision Stylus Pen". The 6" also features a slide out keypad. They are expected to cost a pricey $400 and $700, respectively with delivery more than 6 mos out.

Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, unveiled its first e-book devices, with six-inch and ten-inch screen size offerings, at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The E6 and E101 further solidify Samsung’s position as a global leader in display technology by raising the bar on the quality of writing capabilities for e-books.

US based announcement of partnership with Barnes and Noble and the 6" reader.
