Axis360 is a eBook library system that competes with Overdrive to supply public libraries and schools with library books system to check out eBooks and audio books.

Axis 360 gives library and school users the ability to search, browse and discover ebooks and/or digital audiobooks available for lending through their public library or school with ease. Designed to provide a mobile experience for users of the Axis 360 digital media library, the Axis 360 app lets you sync with your local library or school’s digital collection, allowing you to check out materials in a user interface optimized for your device. The free app allows you to browse, check out and read ebooks or listen to audiobooks in a single app. The app supports ePub and PDF books. Supports ILS integration.

There are apps available for iOS, Android, Windows 8 or later, Amazon Kindle tablets. They need between 20MB and 75MB of free memory to store the app plus the space of the books. These are free apps.

To use the app you would login via your library web site and the app will remember you for future access.

The app lets you read and listen to digital content, place items on hold and see where you are in line, add digital content to your wish list for future check out.

There is also a Read Now capability using your own web browser. Support is available for Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, depending on your platform. Some Android systems supply a default browser which may also work. See read now help for more details.

It also maintains a rich bibliographic database available for library materials (metadata), giving you the information and guidance you need to choose titles for every reader you serve.
