please use more descriptive names on the pages you create and explain any TLAs in the page description. Not everyone is as expert as you and the wiki is for everyone including, heaven forbid, non kindle people.

OK. I will do so. Unfortunately I can't neither move nor delete the pages. --EternalCyclist (talk) 15:24, 1 November 2012 (EDT)

I understand. YOu can try moving it but if not then let me know what you want the new names to be and I will move it for you or I can also delete old pages for you.

I added some description to SDL. This should be sufficient for the those readers who unintentionally stumble across this page. Maybe I should add something like "If you don't know, what this is, you should leave this page." ;-)
As the page is correctly categorized I don't see any strong reason to rename it. Concerning in-text linking from other wiki pages the TLA is even better. Because writting "This program uses [[SDL]] to render graphics." is simpler than "This program uses [[SDL - Simple Direct Media Layer - a Framebuffer Renderer|SDL]] for graphics."
I can create a redirection to SimpleDirectMediaLayer. Would you accept this?
Concerning other short word titles. I really prefer that against those multi word title sentences. But with redirection we can have both. But for Eips I have no idea, what long form title to redirect to.
