Wi-Fi and Internet Browser
The built-in Wi-Fi adapter lets you connect to the internet, surf the web and download ebooks directly to the device.
Handwriting and Notetaking
The stylus doubles as a tool for annotating ebooks and documents, as well as taking notes and memos. In the reading interface, use the stylus to add personal annotations and underlines directly to eBook’s. Annotations made to PDF files can be embedded and stored for viewing on a computer using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Memo and Notepad interfaces offer users two choices for taking notes. In Memo mode, users can sketch freehand notes and save them as image files. In Notepad mode, users can convert handwritten input to text using handwriting recognition, which can be saved as a .txt file.
Keypad
The QWERTY keypad can be used to perform keyword searches and to edit filenames and directories.
Music Player and Voice Recorder
The device comes with built-in speakers, headphone jack and microphone for listening to music and recording audio. Users can even listen to music while they read.
Reading Essentials
The WISEreaders come with a variety of reading features to enhance the user’s reading experience. For one, users can set the text size and line spacing, as well as page orientation according to their reading preferences. To navigate eBooks, users can use the page jump and bookmarking options to quickly and conveniently find certain pages. Lastly, instead of manually flipping through pages, users can set the autopage function to turn the page automatically at user-defined intervals.
