The iriver Story HD is the latest model of the iriver Story product line.

[edit] Overview

The is a 6" eBook reader with a 16 level grayscale 1024 x 768 pixel display, 63% more pixels than the standard 800 x 600 E Ink displays. It features a Google bookstore access built in via Wi-Fi capability. It uses the LG built E Ink Pearl display technology to achieve a resolution of 213 dpi.

The display itself is built by LG Display and is accompanied by a Freescale i.MX508 (ARM Cortex™-A8 core, 800MHz) CPU with integrated (software) display driver, 2GB of onboard storage, and an SDHC card slot. Physically, it is the same size as the Amazon Kindle 3. It is sold at Target stores in the US and is available at various on-line resellers. The US distributor is http://www.iriverinc.com/

It should be running similar firmware to the other Story devices. A basic version without the Wi-Fi is available in Europe but the newer Wi-Fi model will likely replace the basic version at some point.
