  • Contains in-app purchases, offers ability to support the creators using a paywall to access the most recent 1-5 chapters (creator's discretion, usually 3 chapters) for 5 "coins" each.
  • Called "Fastpass", a user has the option to purchase coins to unlock the newest chapter each week.
  • After a period of time the chapter will become free. Chapters are updated weekly. (Example: If a Webtoon that has 3 fastpass chapters, it will cost 15 coins to read the most recent chapters. But that chapter will be free if you wait 3 weeks. To remain in fastpass, each week you have to unlock the newest chapter, but you have the option to go free if you wait and follow the weekly chapters that are released free.)

[edit] Compatibility on E-Readers

  • E-Readers with both Android and Color E-Ink will work with Webtoons and similar media.
  • E-Readers with Color E-Ink and a Web browser will work also, but the functionality will be more basic compared to the app.
  • Scrolling through Webtoons on an E-Ink screen may incur ghosting issues. Refresh settings will need to be tweaked.
  • Tap Scrolling on the Official Webtoon app has been disabled for some time. There are two solutions (for Android E-Readers Only). Use the Tachiyomi app which is compatible with both free Webtoons and has Tap Scrolling, or install a tap scrolling button accessibility app to add a virtual button overlay. Onyx Boox Devices have virtual buttons on their newest firmware accessible via the navigation ball.
